Welcome back!

After our successful online test, we're excited to share what we've been working on over the past month. This update brings a lot of new systems and improvements that push Age of Mara forward.

What's New

  • NPC Dialogue System: players can now interact with NPCs, laying the groundwork for quests.
  • Dynamic Sky & Weather systems with day-night cycles and environmental variations.
  • Drop & Pick-Up mechanics: enemies now drop loot that players can collect.
  • Enhanced Skill Bar with draggable skills and slot customisation.
  • Skill Library UI for viewing and managing abilities.
  • Fully functional Level Progression System with balanced XP advancement.
  • Restructured Inventory System for improved performance and scalability.
  • Steam Authentication: linking Steam accounts to in-game profiles.

Fixes & Improvements

  • Multiple issues resolved from development testing.
  • Massive backend optimisation, achieved around 95% server crash reduction.
  • Enhanced environmental lighting quality.
  • Refined UI consistency and clarity.
  • Faster skill execution with animation-blocking movement.
  • Characters now display equipped items automatically.
  • Seamless cursor/gameplay mode switching.
