Welcome to another devlog!
This time we haven't had our best performance. With the year coming to an end and our daily jobs getting more demanding, we couldn't deliver as much as we wanted. Because of that, we decided to postpone the November playtest to December so we can show more meaningful improvements to those who have been testing with us.
Thank you all for your constant support, and to the new members joining us: welcome aboard!
Having said that, we still managed to make progress and develop new features. Here's what we've done during November:
Improvements & Updates
- Implemented gear stats: items now have stats that apply to the character when equipped.
- Added weapon requirements for some skills (e.g., Mystic Arrow now requires a bow).
- NPC AI updates: populated the village with NPCs and created behaviour systems for some of them.
- Boss AI improvements: added new mechanics and behaviours to the main boss.
- Skill damage is now calculated based on character stats.
- Project clean-up: not visible to players, but great for workflow and long-term organisation.
- Village improvements: added fences around the village to separate mobs from the peaceful zone.
Fixed Bugs
- Fixed infinite negative stat glitch.
- Corrected missile collision so players are hit before nearby mobs.
- Fixed "dead hit" issue: dead players can no longer be damaged.
- Fixed catacomb flying bug where players would float when going deep inside.
- Fixed skill dragging duplication bug in the hotbar.
Where we're heading next
We're feeling confident about hitting our milestone and finishing the prototype early next year. The big focus areas for the next months are:
- Improving mob and boss AI and their combat mechanics
- Making the world feel more alive with better VFX and more NPC interactions
- Upgrading the party system and starting to shape PvP
- Adding basic quests
- Introducing crafting and maybe gathering
- Polishing what's already on the island, vertical progress over horizontal expansion
Final words
We'll keep pushing every week. If you have any questions or thoughts, feel free to share them. Thanks again for all the support!
